All About My Mama

Happy Mother's Day! I know I'm saying it a little late, but hey, better late then never! I hope you each had and absolutely fantastic day yesterday. Normally I would do a weekend recap; however, I wanted to take this time to tell you all a little about my mother.

You know a lot of people say they have an amazing mother but I must say, mine pretty much takes the cake. She is truly one of the best parents around. I have seen her be this selfless person with each of us all the time. What ever we need she has always made sure we had it, even if it meant she had to do with out.

I am blessed because she and I have a really good realtionship. Now, I'm not saying we're perfect. We have our spats every now and then, but so do most people. We just always hug and makeup.

My mother is the definition of strength and perseverance. While raising six children she made her way through nursing school (with honors might I add). Now she has fulfilled a life long dream of being a nurse and is a wonderful one to boot!

She is one of the main reasons I have made it this far in college. Seeing her determination has been so inspiring. I know if she can do it then so can I.

My mama is probably one of the best people at giving advice. If I ever have a problem that I can't figure out she is the first one on my list of people to call. By the end of the conversation I'll know exactly what to do.

My mama is the glue that holds my family together. No matter what trials we may face, she is always there to pick us up and and dust us off. She knows what to do in the midst of every situation and  never sways through even the hardest of times.

Mama, I love you more than you could ever begin to comprehend! Thank you for helping me become the woman I am today. You are amazing!

Five On Friday

I can't believe how fast time is flying by... I feel like I just blinked and it's already Friday. I'm guessing it had to do with the fact that I have been completely swamped this week. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm welcoming with weekend with open arms!

I have some really big news to share with you guys... I got a new job! Now I adore my current job: Working with children is my thing and It brings me so much joy. However, I had to move to a job where I could begin to progress. So, I got completely blessed and snatched one up at the local hospital. I am kind of worried because it's second shift... I'm scared I'll never be able to see my friends and family. However, it works perfectly with my school schedule. So basically this teaching me that when you become an adult you have to make some sacrifices, right? #adultprobs

The fundraiser for the Rwanda team went fantastic! I managed to only spill three drinks, and drop one bowl of salad. That in it self is a big deal, but what's an even bigger deal is that we made over 500 dollars! WHOOHOO! I would say that's a pretty successful day in my book. Thank you to everyone who took time out of your day to come and support us! Y'all are awesome!

Yesterday I happened to come across this quote...

It is exactly what I needed to hear. Y'all patience is one of my biggest battles... I struggle with it in every aspect of my life (except children and animals, I've got all the patience in the world for them). Patience with my career, music, traffic, people, a relationship... Pretty much anything you can think of. This really reminded me that God knows what he is doing. A painter takes his time working on his art. We can't rush the greatest painter while he is working on his masterpiece, we must have patience.

I'm having hair envy, purple hair envy that is. I have been wanting to dye my hair purple for quite sometime; however, I've been to scared to make the commitment, until now. They have these beautiful highlights called peekaboo highlights.

Except instead of the yellow I would choose...

This lovely color! What do you guys think??

Echosmith has released a new single this past week and I flipping love it! Take a listen for yourself.

Today I'm linking up with Rebecca.

April Favorites

Happy Hump day! Today is going to prove to be very exciting as the Barnabas X team has our first official fundraiser tonight. We will taking over the wait staff at a local pizza place. Now anyone who knows me knows that I am one of the clumsiest people in the world. Therefore, I am foreseeing that tonight is going to be very interesting, to say the least. In shorter terms, I feel bad for whoever gets me as a waitress...

I am one of those people who is seriously OCD over their facial routine. I can't lay my head down on the pillow at night without taking all my makeup off. It will drive me insane! The other night when I was over at my friend Bethany's house she let me try her Simple Cleansing Water.

This stuff works wonders, It completely dissolves the makeup right off your skin, and can replace your face washing routine. However, I simply use it to take off my makeup because of my OCDness. ha!

Another facial product that Miss Bethany recommended was the Origins Night cream and Daily moisturizer .

These two products have transformed my skin. I've always been the girl to pile on the makeup in attempts to cover my awful looking skin; However, now I feel comfortable leaving the house with only tinted moisturizer and a little powder. That's a HUGE thing for me.

Caress recently came out with a new body wash and the smell is just wonderful!

I don't think the smell lasts the full 12 hours, but I will say I can smell it for a good few hours after I use it.

It's spring time which means it's time to put up those wonderful fall scented candles and pull out the fresh spring ones. One of my hands down  favorite Spring candle is Peach Bellini.

Now if only they would make it into a body wash...

If you are a big fan of the It's a 10 product your going to love what I have to say next. I have discovered a drugstore product that is virtually the same! It's called Essence Ultime 11 in 1 Repair & Moisture.

This stuff works almost just as good as the It's a 10 product, yet it's a fraction of the cost. Can't get much better than that!

So that's it for my favorites. What have been some of your favorite things this past month?

Oh, I'll be sure and let you all know how tonight goes. If you feel like having some comic relief and live close by come on out! I'm sure it's going to be quite hilarious.

The Weekend Diaries

Happy Monday my fellow peoples! Wow, oh wow, this week has been full of so many surprises and awesome new opportunities, which I seriously can't wait to tell you all about. However, If I were to try and tell you about them all and do a weekend recap, we would be here ALL day and I'm sure you don't want me talking your ears off.  So, I'll jump right into this weekends adventures!

AVENGERS, AVENGERS, AVENGERS!! Oh. My. Word. This movie was everything I had hoped for. I was beginning to get a little worried after seeing a few people post about how much they disliked Age of Ultron, but if you cant tell, I think they did a spectacular job. The casting for the new characters is spot on! I mean Elizabeth Olson did an amazing job as the Scarlet Witch! If you get the chance, go see it.

After having a sleepover with Bethany, we decided to wake up and tackle some shopping. I have been in some serious need of cute, summery shirts. As simple as it sounds, finding cute, summer tops was just about impossible. Luckily, Old Navy had my back! I found two shirts and a beautiful Necklace. After our long day of searching, we decided to hit up Starbucks during their happy hour! I mean how can you turn down half priced Frappuccinos?? As soon as we pulled up I saw a poster for a S'mores frapp. OH. MY. GOSH. That thing is soooo good! Do yourself a favor and give one a try.

Sunday, I woke up and headed to church where we had an awesome service!

Before church selfie because I was feeling really pretty. #noshameinmygame
By the way, this was one of the Shirts and the necklace I picked up from Old Navy.

After church Bethany and I decided to spend the day hanging with the girls. After much deliberation, we finally choose to watch a movie on Netflix called Camp.

When the movie first started I thought it was going to be a one of those really cheesy movies with awful acting. I couldn't have been more wrong... Well, there was still bad acting, but the message of the movie was so good... It was about children who are emotionally broken, attending a summer camp. This camp was a place where those children could go to feel safe, loved, and accepted. It shows the struggles and fears that so many children in America are faced with. But what really broke my heart is at the end of the movie I figured out that it is based on actual events. #cueemotionalbreakdown So many children all over the world are hurting so deeply. I wish I could just take each and every one of those hurting children and simply love them.

After the movie can you guess where we headed?? That would be Starbucks... I'm telling you guys, I can't get enough of this Frapp!

Then we took it old school for supper and made some delicious pigs in a blanket.

That was it for my weekend! What did you do?
